The Avaton

In the Saint Mountain the 'impassible' is in effect, which means that the visit of women is prohibited

All the monasteries are coenobium.

The life of the monks is strict, ascetic, with continuous prayers, holy retinues, sleeplessnesses, fasts, intellectual and manual work. The prayer beeds is their inseparable companion, a means for the concentration of their thought in the "continuous praying" and the uplifting in the skies. Each knot is shaped with nine crosses, symbols of the nine battalions of the Angels.
