The consolidation of the settlement was made in the last Byzantine years or the years of the Turkish domination. It is tightly tied up with the existence of Mendis. It maintained inalterable the toponyms of the Mendeon's country , like that of its beach that continues to be named Poseidion. There are still parts of the ancient walls of Mendis. It is worth to see the temple of Poseidon, the church of Virgin Mary (1619) and the church of "Assumption of Virgin Mary" (1900).
