Bourtzi - House of Papadiamantis -Kastro

Bourtzi. Bourtzi is a small peninsula, which separates in two the harbour of Skiathos and was a fortress in the past. In Bourtzi is found the Cultural Centre of Skiathos, which accommodates cultural events, during the year and mainly in the summer.

The house of Papadiamantis. The house where the famous Greek writer Alexandros Papadiamantis was given birth in 1851, does not exist today. Papadiamantis grew and died in his new house that abstains 100 metres from the eastern beach of the city.

Kastro. In the northern part of the island, under the old medieval city of Skiathos is found a very beautiful beach, named Kastro. The combination of a swim in its clear waters with a visit in the old city of Kastro, is one of the experiences that the visitor of Skiathos must not lose.
