Paroikia

Paroikia

Paroikia is built in the western coast of Paros, round a big and secure gulf, and is the capital of the island, the administrative and economic centre, the passenger and commercial harbour. The residents were installed in the old city that was slowly renamed from Paros to Paroikia. Paroikia is a modern state with services that cover all the needs of the modern traveller. There function branches of most banks, post, health centres , internet cafe, tourist offices and car renting offices. Tens of hotels, rented rooms and campings, give the visitor the possibility of selecting the lodging that suits him. However we inform the visitors that a comfortable and splendid stay is ensured by reserving beforehand and we consult them not to entrust whoever offers them a lodging, at their arrival in the harbour of Paroikia's. Making a walk in the city, in each step we meet taverns and restaurants that serve tasty dishes of the local, Greek and international cuisine as well as shops of all kinds. The bars, the cafe, spaces with live music and clubs fill life and the entertainment finishes in the first morning hours. In Paroikia and in the wider region we meet splendid beaches easily accessed. Behind the cosmopolitan Paroikia, an enchanting state is hidden. Its narrow streets will lead them to ancient monuments, bridges, neoclassic mansions, to small churches, to balconies. Of big interest is a visit in the archaeological museum, the ancient cemetery, the hill of the castle and in the royal church.
